Asti’s primary focus is building the market analysis for the Southeast Asia countries, building on sub-national demand/supply forecasts, contracting and infrastructure trends combined with regulatory framework and regional market trends. She builds commercial insight for the region, and its impact in shaping the global LNG market. She helps businesses and clients navigate and identify key risks and opportunities in this emerging and dynamic region.

Asti joined Wood Mackenzie in 2019 after 10 years with ExxonMobil, where she was the Head of LNG Market Development. During her time with ExxonMobil, she has worked across the commercial value chain for both LNG and pipeline gas, covering operations, business analysis, contract development and negotiations.

Asti holds an MSc from University of Warwick and M Int. from University of Queensland.

We will look at the outlook for gas and LNG demand in Indonesia and the rest of Southeast Asia region. The focus will be on the potential for markets to switch to gas as part of their energy transition strategy, and the changing role of gas throughout that journey. We will also address the risks and opportunities for players to support the fuel conversion.

Mr. Kim Ki Dong is currently a principal researcher at KOGAS Research Institute. He has worked for natural gas utilization, DME(Di-methyl ether) and R & D planning project in KOGAS. He was to develop natural gas vehicle and refuelling station system for vehicle (mainly CNG bus) and also done study on gas sensor and fuel cell for power generation. Currently his major R & D tasks are to study LNG bunkering for LNG fuelled ship/island and to develop biomethane as renewable gaseous fuel from organic wastes. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from University of Hanyang at Seoul in 1992 and his master’s degree in
chemical engineering from POSTECH, Pohang University of Science and Technology, where his research is focused on environmental catalyst for air pollution in 1994.

The Korean island electricity has been powered by means of internal combustion engines using liquid fuel. This kinds of power generation method had emitted a large amount of air pollutants to nature and was difficult to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Meanwhile, the Korean government has established regulations on power plant emissions to reduce air pollution generated by power plants in islands, and in September 2021, the Carbon Neutral Act was passed to reduce greenhouse gases by more than 35% in 2030 compared to 2018.
The Korea Gas Corporation(KOGAS) successfully completed a research by conducting the construction of LNG re-gasification facilities with LNG supply systems in order to convert/retrofit a diesel engine into LNG-diesel mixed power generation among several engines.
As a result, LNG fuel provide more environmental benefits compare to diesel/kerosene in NOx, SOx, and CO2.
LNG power generation is an intermediate step in supplying hydrogen fuel in the future decarbonized era, and it has secured a foundation for producing hydrogen by reforming LNG to supply hydrogen in island.

Choi joined to Khan at 2006 when the company was established. With the background of mechanical system and control system, he had worked field engineering and PM jobs for offshore project in Korea, especially related to rectification and upgrade of offshore unit -Drilling Rig, Platform, and FPSO.

Now he develops the offshore business in new challenging circumstance and Offshore Hookup & Commissioning, Installation, Pipe laying and Decommissioning are his focused areas.

This project is a main part of Government invested R&D project for decommissioning of offshore platform. Korean and Indonesian governments have been planning several years to decommission of offshore platforms which are not operating. 3 platforms in Attaka field -Attaka I, UA, EB - are assigned to be decommissioned and KHAN consortium which are involved in the R&D project will carry out the decommissioning work, 2022.

In this presentation, information of platforms and decommissioning plan are introduced.

After completion of decommissioning, KHAN consortium will develop more eco-friendly method for decommissioning.

As the increasing global population, the demand consumption for protein from the seafood will continue to grow. Meanwhile, the stagnating supply from capture fisheries, the pressure coastal ecosystem, habitat loss, and the degradation of land use encourage the expansion of the source for ocean-derived food. Therefore, offshore mariculture can be a future fisheries activity. The Indonesian government started to study the scheme to reutilize the post-operation oil and gas platform as Fish Farm (Rig to Fish Farm, R2F). R2F in Indonesia has considerable potential to achieve prosperity and contribute to the blue economy concept. This presentation will provide an overview of the R2F studies and challenges of using the platform for offshore mariculture. Some benchmarks of R2F in the world could be a model for the implementation in Indonesia. In the end, we will describe strategy and policy from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries concerning the implementation of R2F in Indonesia.

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North-West Java (PHE ONWJ) presently operates a fleet of 220 fixed offshore platforms and more than 90% of these platforms have been in operation for more than 20 years. Three (3) of these platforms, i.e. PA-FT, FF-FT, and FHT, had been declared as part of the Indonesian National Decommissioning Strategy. Following-up this initiative, PHE ONWJ is driven to seek an optimum option for offshore platform decommissioning. Five options, i.e. Total Removal for Reuse in the Upstream Development, Total Removal for Onshore Disposal, Write-off in-situ, Total Removal for Rig-to-Reef ex-situ, and Total Removal for Reefing in-Situ, are closely considered. PHE ONWJ commissioned a Comparative Assessment (CA) to identify the most preferred decommissioning option. This CA involved weighing up the upside and downside of various decommissioning options against key criteria, i.e. Regulation, Safety, Environmental, Technical, Economical, and Societal.
